DJ Mark Mindel’s tango journey began in 2011. The music of tango captured his mind and heart from the very beginning. He started DJing in 2015 for local practicas and intimate milongas he himself created to provide more opportunities for tango dancing. In 2018, together with his wife Kim, he started the Queen City Tango Marathon, an annual event happening in Charlotte North Carolina.

Mark believes that every aspect of the tango is a journey. Musical choices take dancers to lots of places full of emotions and colors. With his tango selections he loves opening new doors for dancers to walk through and discover in their hearts and minds dreams they can share with another human being while dancing.

Besides at the Queen City Tango Marathon 2018-22, Mark has DJed at Charleston Encuentro, Newport News Encuentro, Sugar Hollow Encuentro, Los Angeles Encuentro, Columbia Tango Marathon, San Miguel Allende Festival, Tango Utopia – Durham, NC, Milonga Del Barrio – New York, Augusta, Atlanta, Charleston, Boston, Orlando, Knoxville, DC, Greensboro, Winston-Salem.

He arrived fifth at the finals of the Remolino DJ contest in Ukraine. He actively works with the tangoWorking with “Tango Tunes” to create a US based music restoration and digital transfer studio for the preservation of Tango music.
